Register an app with Azure Active Directory

This article will guide you on how to register an application with Azure Active Directory. Once the application has been registered you can use it on OAuth authentication for your various applications.

  1. Navigate to your azure portal → Azure Active Directory → App registrations → New registration

  1. Provide appropriate name → Register

  2. Once the registration has completed you will be able to access the Application (client) ID we will use it later to create Application Use in Dynamics 365

  3. Navigate to Certificate & secretes→ New Client Secret


  1. Make sure to store somewhere safe The

    1. Secret ID

    2. Value

  2. Navigate to API Permission → Add a permission

  1. Select Dynamics CRM

Click Add permissions

Create Application User

  1. Navigate to Advance Settings→ Security → Users→ New User

  1. Make sure to change the form to “Application User”

    1. Enter Application ID that we created earlier and Save

    2. All the necessary information will be pulled in

  2. Assign Security Role

  How to use Formatted Values in Power Automate Flow Dynamics 365   If you have been working on Power Automate for Dynamics 365 you might have been wandering how you can access a lookup Formatted Value or Option Set formatted values. You can use the following format to access: body(‘{Action Name}’)?[‘{fieldname} @OData.Community.Display.V1. FormattedValue’] You just have to be mindful in Dynamics 365 lookup field name they do not translate to the proper field name, you might have to and an “_” as a prefix and “_value” as a postfix, I will leave that to you.
